RESCHEDULED!! - LOCO Day Drive

RESCHEDULED!!

Attention Lotus Colorado!

March is here, the weather is warming up and so it is time to bring out your Lotus for the first club drive of the year.

Mike Ingelido has put together a plan for a great drive on SUNDAY March 30th in the afternoon.  Please note that you need not RSVP, just show up on time.  If you have questions please direct them to Mike at the email address in the details below.

BTW - since the drive starts in Colorado Springs, if any Denver and northern members want to coordinate a drive down in the morning let me know and I can pass along the details. I, unfortunately, will be out of town that day and not able to make the drive.

I'm sure many of us are dying to get our cars back on the road after they (and their drivers) have been hiding at home during the winter. So, for those who may be interested here is a relatively short day drive SUNDAY, the 30th which the weather forecasters say will be a nice early spring day with temps in the low 60's.

We'll meet at noon at the northwest corner of the intersection of S Sierra Madre St. and W. Cimmaron St in close proximity to the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum in downtown Colorado Springs.  For those who haven't been to downtown Colorado Springs lately, or ever, you can come down earlier in the morning for breakfast/brunch at the many restaurants in the area, window shop, sightsee or visit the Olympic Museum which opens at 10 AM on Sundays.   (NOTE The Olympic Museum tickets cost $24 person) USOPM | U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum - Colorado Springs

After a very short drivers' meeting we will depart at 12:15 and proceed west on Cimmaron St (which becomes US 24) all the way to Woodland Park and the intersection with CO 9.  From there we'll travel north past Deckers and then turn towards Foxton and the backroads to Conifer.  We'll then travel east on the backroads to Chatfield State Park and onto US 85 then south to Sedalia.  From there we will proceed further south on CO 195 to Palmer Lake and back to Colorado Springs on the Big Slab (aka I-25).  Total distance is approximately 150 miles and about 3 hours driving time if you do the complete loop.  Obviously, people can drop off the route at any point they wish to get home or wherever they may choose to go.  No rest, food or gas stops are planned.

If you would like to go on the drive, just meet at the starting point at noon on SUNDAY.  No need to RSVP.

If you have any questions or need more information, just drop me an e-mail at:  fox4gib "at" aol.com

Cheers!

Mike

PS If the weather turns sour before the drive (gee, that never happens during Springtime in the Rockies Emoji), I'll send out a notification and reschedule the drive to a later date.
